GMG Ventures has £42m to invest in innovative media tech start-ups
The Guardian has always led the pack in terms of tech and innovation, and that looks set to continue, with the launch of its own VC fund to invest in early-stage tech businesses.
As you would expect, GMG Ventures, as the fund is known, will focus on media technology, giving The Guardian Media Group access to new ideas and innovation to drive its business forward, while helping ambitious start-ups to reach their potential.
GMG Ventures is on the lookout for cutting-edge companies in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for journalism, adtech, customer and reader experience technology, payment technology and new ways of distributing content, such as augmented and virtual reality.
