New survey aims to pinpoint why more UK businesses aren’t scaling up
While the UK (and London in particular!) isn’t bad at starting new businesses, it’s still sadly the case that the majority of small businesses and startups fail to break through to the next level of growth. For one reason or another, promising ideas fail to get off the ground, and potentially excellent companies either get stuck in a rut or go under.
The Scaleup Institute is on a mission to change that, helping businesses to grow, evolve, and scale their operations. Its aim is to ultimately banish barriers to business growth, and turn the UK into a place which nurtures and nourishes businesses through their (hopefully upwards!) trajectory.
By scaling up, businesses aren’t just helping themselves, they’re also giving a boost to the country as a whole. By increasing their revenues and profits, scale-up companies generate a staggering amount of cash for the UK economy – over £1 trillion annually! Crucially, they also create jobs, employing over 3 million people, representing valuable opportunities right across the country.
But to achieve their mission of scaling up more UK businesses, the Scaleup Institute first needs to know about the barriers and hurdles which small companies currently have to negotiate when trying to advance to the next level. And for that they need your help!
Simply fill out this short survey to let the Institute know what challenges you and your business have faced in your growth journey. The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete, and all answers will be treated with the strictest confidence.
So, help future businesses out, and give your perspective on the state of British business. To contribute valuable data to the project, fill out the survey here.
